The Amethyst Mine Story
A Hidden Treasure in the Heart of Sidi Rahal
Over 100 years ago, a man from Marrakech discovered a secret deep in the hills near the village of *Aqsri*, close to Sidi Rahal. He would stay at a local’s home and quietly venture into the rocky terrain, digging for something special: raw amethyst crystals. Without telling anyone, he sold his findings in Marrakech and kept the profits to himself.
Eventually, the villagers discovered his secret. Realizing the value hidden beneath their feet, they began mining the site themselves. Since then, this amethyst mine has been a lifeline for generations—men and women working tirelessly, sometimes for weeks, to uncover a single stone. But that one gem carries great value—not just in money, but in the effort and soul poured into finding it.

My grandfather was one of those miners. He shared this story with me, and today, I live in the same area, guiding visitors through this legendary place and offering handpicked amethyst stones for collectors and gemstone lovers. If you are passionate about gemstones or curious to explore a mysterious, authentic Moroccan mine—you're more than welcome. I offer guided tours to the mine at a fair price, and you can also purchase genuine amethyst stones directly from this site—each with its own unique story and certificate of origin. Support this living heritage—own a piece of history. Every stone tells a story. Every visit is an adventure.
